Primer Spots is primarily about NEW projects. We’ll have the latest skinny on future fat-fendered street machines, radical rods and too-cool customs, plus other types of provocative project cars. If it’s "in progress", it’s "out there" for our avid interest and collective visual enjoyment.

As you can imagine, we need your help in sniffing out the half-baked hotties, backyard bombs and garage bound go-mobiles being built around the country and the world. What the heck, your contribution may just grace this page someday as one of our prime examples.
Bob Robertson - Hollister, MO • USA
This “work-in-progress” contribution was sent to us by our friend and “sculptor supreme”, Bob Robertson. Not only is Bob a superb artist (his Western art in wood and bronze will blow you away) but as you can easily see, he’s also got it going when it comes to mechanical and metal fabrication. The ‘32 sedan creation you see before you is all Bob, from beginning to this stage of construction... and will be through to the end. He’s a multi-talented fellow for sure, so after you look over this primed example of his automotive skills, make sure and check out The Bob Robertson Sculpture Gallery at: http://bobrobertsonsculptures.com/, you’ll be fascinated by what you’ll discover.

The 1932 Ford Street Rod features:

An all steel body with 3” chop • Hinges moved inboard • Cowl was shortened and the hood & hood sides were extended to eliminate the pinched dogleg design of the original body lines • Grille shell chopped 2” • Front fenders reshaped • Custom rear pan & license plate inset • gas filler door below rear window.

383 stroked Chevrolet • Brodix aluminum heads • Roller cam and lifters • TPI fuel injection • 700 R4 Tranny with modified Genie shifter • Hand-made low position brackets for air compressor and alternator • Block hugger headers and custom made stainless exhaust pipes and mufflers.

Modified 32 frame kicked up 2” for tire clearance • Reshaped firewall for body drop-down • Early Corvette third-member modified for inboard brakes & rotors • Outer bearing carrier, tubular bars and connecting links all hand made • Disk brakes all around • Boyd wheels & B.F. Goodrich rubber.

Hand made custom dash and console • Modified Recaro seats • Window frames are all custom made • door panels were sculpted in foam and then fabricated in fiberglass.
Our thanks to the artist for sharing his beautiful work with our viewers. Bob is an honorary citizen of Motorburg and we’re delighted that he's a part of the action.
